Get to Know Greystone Manor Therapeutic Riding Center
Greystone Manor Therapeutic Riding Center (TRC) has provided equine-assisted therapeutic activities to children and adults with special needs since 1981. We are a 501(c)(3) organization, meaning we are non-profit and supported entirely by the community that we serve. Our home is here in scenic Lancaster, PA, where our team has developed and helped us grow the farm that’s changing lives.
Greystone Manor TRC’s History
When we started as an organization, we only had seven riders. Today, more than 50 students participate in our weekly one-on-one lessons. In addition, individuals enjoy the ground-level experiences in our unmounted clinics and the community building in our group programs.
We strongly believe in the healing and calming power of equestrian learning and have seen countless riders leave our farm happier and more confident than when they arrived. These rewarding experiences shouldn’t be limited by cognitive, physical, or emotional special needs—everyone should be able to develop life-long memories and connections with our amazing horses.
With the help of our wonderful volunteers, individuals with special needs can become increasingly mobile, trauma survivors can develop self-confidence and freedom, and all riders can learn to control and find comfort with our horses. The simple acts of caring for and bonding with our animals can be incredibly deep and personal.
