Volunteer at Greystone Manor TRC
Who are our volunteers? They are the people who make it happen. They assist in every phase of the organization – from recruitment, fundraising, publicity, and teaching to the most visible part of the organization – that of helping individuals ride. Volunteers work in the therapeutic team as leaders of horses and side aides for riders. Volunteers assure the well-being and safety of the student rider. They bring new ideas and insight to the organization and frequently enlist their friends. A volunteer’s knowledge, skills, and experience are essential to a viable organization.
Greystone Manor Therapeutic Riding Center would not operate without volunteers like you. Our riders would not get the experience and benefit that involvement with horses has to offer. Many children and adults with disabilities have never experienced the thrill, satisfaction, and challenge of being on horseback. Riding becomes a means of improving balance, coordination, endurance, and strength. A horse can be an equalizer in an otherwise unequal world. Individuals can become mobile, learn a degree of control over a responsive animal, and grow in self-esteem. They can also feed, pet, and learn to care for the horse, thereby creating a special bond between them and their mount.
With your help and commitment, this can become a reality. You are a very special part of the organization. You can make these hopes and promises come true. Click HERE for more information.
